Data Deletion
Last updated 28 August 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of your data from Discuva, including data connected through a Facebook or Instagram login (for churches that connect a social account to publish posts through Discuva).
If you’re a member, worker, or guest at a church using Discuva
Your church administers your record and is the fastest path to deletion — ask your church admin to deactivate or remove your record from their Discuva workspace. If you’d rather contact us directly, or your church is unresponsive, email contact@discuva.orgwith your name, your church’s name, and the email or phone number on your record. We’ll verify the request and either action it directly or route it to your church admin, and confirm once it’s complete.
If you’re a church administrator
You can remove individual member, worker, or guest records directly from the admin app. To delete your entire workspace and all associated data, email contact@discuva.orgfrom an admin account on file, or ask us to walk you through it. We complete full workspace deletions within 30 days of a verified request, except where we’re required to retain specific records by law (e.g. financial records subject to a statutory retention period).
Data connected via Facebook or Instagram
If your church connects a Facebook Page or Instagram account to Discuva for publishing posts, we store an access token scoped to that connection — never your personal Facebook/Instagram password. To remove this data:
- Disconnect from inside Discuva— in the admin app’s Social Media settings, disconnect the account. This immediately deletes the stored access token from our systems.
- Or remove access from Meta directly— in your Facebook Business settings, remove Discuva’s app access. We receive this as a disconnect and delete the associated token on our side.
- Or email us at contact@discuva.orgwith your church’s workspace name, and we’ll remove the connection and delete the associated token within 30 days.
What gets deleted
A deletion request removes the personal data tied to the record or connection in question from our active systems. Data may persist briefly in backups until they naturally cycle out (typically within 30 days), and we may retain minimal records where required by law (e.g. financial/giving records subject to statutory retention).
